The KODAK i4650 is a compact A3 production document scanner designed for high-volume scanning environments requiring fast throughput, reliable document feeding and advanced image processing. It is suitable for government departments, financial institutions, service bureaus and centralized document-processing operations.
The scanner delivers throughput speeds of up to 150 pages per minute and 300 images per minute. Its recommended daily volume of up to 130,000 pages supports demanding production workflows where substantial document batches must be processed regularly.
A 500-sheet automatic document feeder enables large batches to be scanned with fewer paper-loading interruptions. The scanner supports paper weights ranging from 45 to 200 g/m² and documents measuring from 50.8 × 63.5 mm up to 305 mm wide and 9.1 metres long.
Documents can exit through the front output tray or through the rear when the straight-through paper path is manually selected. The rear exit provides a flatter paper route for long documents and media requiring more controlled handling.
SurePath intelligent document feed technology combines controlled stacking, enhanced jam recovery, Intelligent Document Protection, interactive multifeed recovery, length-based multifeed detection, ultrasonic multifeed technology and metal detection.
Interactive Multifeed Recovery allows operators to review potential multifeeds and choose whether to accept, ignore or rescan an image before it is sent to the connected application. This can reduce unnecessary rescanning and batch interruptions.
Intelligent Document Protection monitors paper movement to help prevent document damage. Metal detection identifies staples, paper clips and other metallic objects that could damage original documents or interrupt the scanning process.
The KODAK i4650 uses dual white LED illumination with CCD scanning technology. It provides a maximum optical and output resolution of 600dpi, with 256-level 8-bit grayscale output, 24-bit colour output and 48-bit colour capture.
Perfect Page image-enhancement features include adaptive threshold processing, automatic cropping, deskew, automatic colour detection, blank-page removal, image merging, sharpening, streak filtering and electronic colour dropout.
A 3.5-inch graphical colour LCD provides access to scanning functions and operator information. Operator overrides help users manage document exceptions without unnecessarily stopping the complete scanning batch.
The scanner supports digital and physical imprinting options for workflows requiring identification, tracking or reference information. Supported barcode formats can also assist with document separation, classification and indexing.
USB 3.2 Gen 1×1 connectivity provides a direct connection to a compatible workstation. Driver support includes ISIS, TWAIN, WIA and Linux TWAIN and SANE, along with KOFAX certification.
Optional KODAK Capture Pro Software and Info Input Solution can be added for expanded document capture and information-processing requirements. Scanned data is processed exclusively through volatile memory and effectively erased when the scanner is shut down.
