TP-Link Omada ER605 Gigabit Multi-WAN Load Balance VPN Router
Professional Multi-WAN VPN Router for Business Networks
The TP-Link Omada ER605 is a professional Gigabit VPN router designed for offices, businesses, branch networks and other environments that require reliable multi-WAN connectivity, load balancing, VPN access and centralized network management.
Equipped with five Gigabit Ethernet ports, the ER605 can support up to three Ethernet WAN connections using one dedicated WAN port and two configurable WAN/LAN ports. Multi-WAN Load Balancing helps distribute network traffic across available broadband connections to improve bandwidth utilization and network availability.
The router also includes a USB 2.0 port that supports compatible 4G/3G USB modems for mobile broadband WAN backup. Integration with the TP-Link Omada SDN platform provides centralized management, cloud access and intelligent network monitoring.
Product Features
Five Gigabit Ethernet Ports: The ER605 provides five Gigabit Ethernet ports for high-speed wired networking across WAN and LAN connections.
Up to Three Ethernet WAN Ports: One dedicated Gigabit WAN port and two configurable Gigabit WAN/LAN ports allow the router to support up to three wired internet connections.
Multi-WAN Load Balancing: Traffic can be distributed between multiple WAN connections according to configured bandwidth proportions, helping businesses make more effective use of multiple broadband lines.
USB Mobile Broadband WAN: A USB 2.0 port allows a compatible 4G/3G USB modem to be connected for mobile broadband backup.
WAN Backup: Multiple wired WAN connections and compatible mobile broadband backup provide additional options for maintaining internet connectivity when a primary connection is unavailable.
Omada SDN Integration: The ER605 integrates with the Omada Software Defined Networking platform for centralized configuration, monitoring and management alongside compatible Omada access points, switches and controllers.
Centralized Cloud Management: When used with a compatible Omada controller solution, administrators can remotely manage supported network settings through the Omada platform.
Standalone Management: The router can also be configured independently through its web-based management interface.
IPSec VPN: Supports secure IPSec VPN tunnels for encrypted site-to-site communication between offices and remote network locations.
OpenVPN: OpenVPN functionality provides additional options for secure remote and site connectivity according to the configured deployment.
L2TP and PPTP VPN: Additional VPN protocol support provides flexibility when integrating the router into different network environments.
Advanced Firewall: Configurable firewall policies help protect the internal network and control traffic passing between network segments and external connections.
DoS Defense: Built-in protection can detect and defend against supported denial-of-service attacks, including TCP, UDP and ICMP flooding.
VLAN Support: VLAN functionality allows administrators to create separate logical network segments for departments, devices, guests or other network groups.
IP, MAC and URL Filtering: Filtering options provide administrators with additional control over network access and internet usage.
IP-MAC Binding: IP and MAC address binding can help reduce ARP spoofing risks and maintain consistent client address assignments.
Access Control: Administrators can define policies controlling how specific users and devices access network and internet resources.
Captive Portal: Supported portal authentication functionality can help control guest or user access to network resources in compatible deployments.
ALG Support: Application Layer Gateway functionality is available for supported protocols and applications including FTP, H.323, SIP, IPSec and PPTP.
Omada App: Supported settings, clients and network status can be monitored and managed from compatible mobile devices through the Omada app.

Multi-WAN Load Balancing
The ER605 can use up to three Ethernet WAN connections. Multi-WAN Load Balancing distributes traffic between configured internet lines based on their available bandwidth, helping organizations utilize multiple broadband connections more efficiently.
4G/3G Mobile Broadband Backup
The integrated USB 2.0 port supports compatible 4G/3G USB modems for mobile broadband WAN backup. This gives businesses another connectivity option when a fixed broadband connection becomes unavailable.
Secure Business VPN Connectivity
The ER605 supports IPSec, OpenVPN, L2TP and PPTP VPN technologies. These options allow businesses to establish encrypted connections between headquarters, branch locations and supported remote users.
Omada SDN Centralized Management
As part of the TP-Link Omada ecosystem, the ER605 can be centrally managed alongside compatible Omada switches and wireless access points. Administrators can configure supported devices, monitor network status and manage clients through a unified management platform.
Network Security and Access Control
Advanced firewall policies, DoS defense, VLANs, ACL functionality, filtering and IP-MAC binding provide administrators with multiple tools for protecting and segmenting business networks.
Internet Access Management
Administrators can apply IP, MAC and URL filtering along with access control policies to manage internet usage. Supported captive portal functionality can also be used to authenticate and classify network users in compatible configurations.
Standalone or Controller-Based Deployment
The ER605 can operate as a standalone router or as part of an Omada-managed network. This provides deployment flexibility for both smaller installations and larger centrally managed business networks.
Important Compatibility Information
The ER605 does not contain an integrated cellular modem or SIM card slot. Mobile broadband connectivity requires a separately purchased compatible 4G/3G USB modem.
Some management, VPN and network features depend on the ER605 hardware version, firmware version and operating mode. Controller-specific functions require a compatible Omada Hardware Controller, Software Controller or Cloud-Based Controller.
