Description

TP-Link RE705X AX3000 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender

High-Speed AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender

The TP-Link RE705X is an AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 range extender designed to improve wireless coverage in areas where the main router signal is weak. It delivers wireless speeds of up to 2402Mbps on the 5GHz band and up to 574Mbps on 2.4GHz, providing a combined AX3000-class wireless connection.

With support for OneMesh, 160MHz channel bandwidth, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, Beamforming and Adaptive Path Selection, the RE705X provides an efficient way to extend an existing wireless network for streaming, gaming, video calls and everyday connectivity.

Product Features

AX3000 Wi-Fi 6: Delivers up to 2402Mbps on 5GHz and 574Mbps on 2.4GHz for fast dual-band wireless performance.

Wi-Fi 6 Technology: 802.11ax technologies provide increased network efficiency, lower latency and improved support for multiple compatible connected devices.

160MHz Channel Support: The 5GHz radio supports 160MHz channel bandwidth, allowing compatible client devices to take advantage of increased wireless bandwidth.

1024-QAM: Wi-Fi 6 1024-QAM improves data density compared with earlier Wi-Fi generations, helping increase wireless throughput under compatible conditions.

OneMesh Support: When paired with a compatible TP-Link OneMesh router, the RE705X can form a unified mesh network with a single Wi-Fi name.

Seamless Roaming: Compatible devices can move between the main router and extender while remaining on the same OneMesh wireless network.

Adaptive Path Selection: The extender automatically selects an efficient connection path to the router to help maintain wireless performance.

OFDMA: OFDMA improves network efficiency by allowing multiple compatible client devices to share wireless resources more effectively.

MU-MIMO: Multi-User MIMO allows simultaneous communication with multiple compatible devices, helping improve overall network capacity.

Beamforming: Beamforming technology helps direct wireless signals toward connected devices for stronger and more focused coverage.

Four High-Performance Amplifiers: Integrated amplifiers help strengthen wireless signals in areas where the main router’s coverage may be weaker.

Gigabit Ethernet Port: The integrated Gigabit Ethernet port provides high-speed wired connectivity for smart TVs, gaming consoles, desktop PCs and other compatible devices.

Access Point Mode: The RE705X can convert an existing wired Ethernet connection into a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 access point.

Adjustable Coverage: Wireless coverage strength can be adjusted through supported settings in the TP-Link Tether app.

Works with Wi-Fi Routers: The extender can operate with compatible Wi-Fi routers, while OneMesh functionality requires a compatible TP-Link OneMesh router.

Tether App Management: The TP-Link Tether app provides guided setup and convenient management from compatible Android and iOS devices.

WPS Button: A dedicated WPS button provides a convenient method for supported wireless pairing and setup.

Signal Indicator: The built-in signal indicator helps users identify a suitable installation location between the router and weak coverage area.

*OneMesh functionality requires a compatible TP-Link OneMesh router. Compatibility can vary with non-standard, modified or outdated router firmware.

AX3000 Dual-Band Performance

The TP-Link RE705X delivers up to 2402Mbps on the 5GHz band and up to 574Mbps on 2.4GHz. This gives compatible devices additional wireless bandwidth for 4K streaming, online gaming, large downloads and other demanding applications.

160MHz Channels for Higher 5GHz Throughput

Support for 160MHz channel bandwidth on 5GHz provides double the channel width of conventional 80MHz configurations. Compatible Wi-Fi 6 clients can use this wider bandwidth to achieve higher wireless link rates.

OneMesh Whole-Home Networking

When connected to a compatible TP-Link OneMesh router, the RE705X becomes part of a unified wireless network. Users can move around the home without manually switching between separate router and extender Wi-Fi names.

OFDMA and MU-MIMO

OFDMA and MU-MIMO improve efficiency when multiple compatible wireless devices are active at the same time. These technologies are useful in homes with smartphones, computers, TVs, consoles and smart devices sharing one connection.

Gigabit Ethernet and Access Point Mode

The Gigabit Ethernet port can provide a wired connection for devices such as gaming consoles, PCs or televisions. In Access Point Mode, the RE705X can instead use a wired network connection to create a Wi-Fi 6 wireless access point.

Adaptive Path Selection

Adaptive Path Selection automatically evaluates the available wireless paths between the extender and router and selects an efficient option to help maintain connection speed and stability.

Easy Setup with TP-Link Tether

The TP-Link Tether app provides guided setup and ongoing management from a compatible smartphone. Users can monitor the extender, adjust supported settings and select wireless coverage strength according to their environment.

Important Performance Information

Maximum wireless speeds are theoretical physical link rates and do not represent guaranteed internet throughput. Actual performance depends on router capability, client devices, distance, interference, channel width and the quality of the connection between the extender and main router.

For best results, the extender should be installed in a location where it still receives a strong signal from the main router rather than directly inside the existing Wi-Fi dead zone.
